Memorial Day Getaways

While Memorial Day weekend in Seattle, WA feels like a vacation of its own, there are SO many great easy getaways too.

You do not need two weeks and a passport. You just need a plan and a few hours in the car. Seattle sits close enough to some of the best beach towns, mountain towns, lake towns, and wine regions in the Pacific Northwest that most of these are doable on a tank of gas or a short flight. A mix of day trips and overnights, there’s something for every kind of long weekend.

• Portland, OR / 3 hrs by car / Stay: The Nines Hotel
• Semiahmoo Resort / 2.5 hrs by car / Stay: Semiahmoo Resort
• Leavenworth / 2.5 hrs by car / Stay: Posthotel Leavenworth
• Victoria, BC / short flight or ferry / Stay: The Empress Fairmont

This is one of my favorite things about living in Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest. The location puts you closer to more than most people realize.
